Bad Windows Media Center Remote4/21/2013 5:23:04 PM
Pros: Several programmable buttons
Fast setup
Huge device library
Cons: 3-5 second delay for Windows Media Center
Overall Review: I purchased this remote to use with my Windows Media Center PC, Sony receiver, and LG TV. The setup was very fast and easy. Watch TV button is a great feature to turn on multiple devices and turn to 'TV' settings. There was about a 3-5 second delay when using the Remote with Windows Media Center, as this was the main device I purchased the remote for.
Not an activity based remote like other Harmonys7/11/2011 4:48:03 PM
Pros: Like all Harmony remotes, programming is a snap and the ergonomics are good. This thing looks brand new, not like a refurb at all.
Cons: This IS NOT like other Harmony remotes. It is not activity based. So there is no, "Watch Movie" button where it will turn on and off all the appropriate devices and set the proper inputs. With this, it's all manual. I guess I should have realized it, but it looks just like my other Harmony remotes minus the LCD screen. Also only controls 4 devices. Did not knock any eggs off for my stupidity.
Overall Review: You can't use the Logitech Harmony remote software to program this low end remote. You must use their website at myharmony.com. When tech support informed me of that I finally realized this is not like all my other Harmony remotes

Pros: N/A
Cons: Device was dead on arrival and the return shipping charge is about half the cost of the device.
Overall Review: I have had excellent service from Newegg. This is the first time I have gotten a defect or questionnable device. I will have to wait and see how well the RMA process works
Pros: Can use it to control all my entertainment center devices- newer TV, old DVD player, and HTPC. Myharmony website works well for setup, but has serious page formatting issues in Firefox and Chrome. Remote arrived clean and fully functional- couldn't tell it had been previously used. Buttons are well-sized and placed. Watch TV button allows me to turn on my TV and HTPC with one button press. Good IR power- don't have to have pinpoint aim at the IR receiver for commands to go through.
Cons: Serious lag time between button presses and when they are sent- more than one button press in quick succession will get queued up and sent at ~2/second. Pressing 8 buttons in quick succession takes about 4 seconds to fully send. This is significantly more laggy than my standard TV remote and my Windows MCE remote. Sadly there is no way to reduce the lag time, at least not on this model remote. When flipping through channels while TV watching this isn't a huge deal, but when using an onscreen keyboard on my HTPC, this is a major issue.
Pros: Logitech Harmony support is pretty good. Using Logitech to get a warranty replacement.
Cons: Didn't work out of the box, wouldn't power up at all. Scuffed up all over the place, but maybe that is just what recertified means to newegg/logitech.
Overall Review: Not sure, who recertified this, but they were crazy.
Functions Great, but not what I would call "recertified" or "refurbished"10/28/2011 2:56:06 AM
Pros: Easy setup with my Macbook Pro running OSX Lion
Main reason why I bought this was to control my xbox. Had to reprogram a couple buttons, but it was a snap.
Setup my TV, Xbox and Cable Receiver in less than 10 minutes!
Cons: Not even CLOSE to refurbished or recertified. Deep scratches down the back, scuffs on the front. For the price I'm not too upset, but am upset at the misleading condition statement on NewEgg.
