Yes. No problem using a wide variety of USB ports on a wide variety of computers. Of course your read/write speeds will vary based on your port and USB type.

Mine arrived "dead". I didn't try to use it until MUCH after it arrived so I couldn't return it.

Any issues reformatting this and using it with MacOS?

Reformatting is required to use Time Machine on macOS. Additionally, Windows 10, 8.1, or 7 are required, and there's a downloadable NTFS driver to read/write on macOS.
