Yes, it comes with a back plate that fits behind the doorbell and allows you to shift the angle of view to the side if necessary.

On what device is the past 3 hour video file kept:  on a Desktop PC on the same home network?

This information is held on the Nest servers "in the cloud", you get a free 30 day trial then Nest requires you to sign up for a $60 annual service to continue storing these videos. Originally I was just going to use this for LIVE monitoring but have since decided to pay Nest for the annual service so I can go back and review prior activity online.

does it have a easy and or solid install on a brick wall?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Included in the box are the masonry fasteners and even the drill bit needed to install them.  Having checked the voltages before I ordered, the entire installation took me only 20 minutes total although I did not have to drill holes because I used the existing holes.

Question 4

I prefer to be the only individual that has access to the video and audio data. I don't like renting server space forever. Will the option to store the data on an external drive be offered?

Unfortunately, data is stored on Nest server only, there is no way to use another storage device/facility.
However, you don't have to sign up for their service (therefore no history, direct view only).
