This says it supports 50TB max yet the specs say 8TB per bay max, which would be 40TB max. So which is the true max?

The manufacturer needs to weigh in here, so Newegg perhaps you can bridge that gap? OK Michael I'm going to make a guess here that the product is undergoing firmware changes that have upped the capacity. I looked around a bit and saw specs for 8TB/40max, 10TB/50 max, and just 1 that said 16TB/80TB max. It was hard to tell, they aren't very good about publishing the model number and finding a manual or even the product on the Orico site I came up empty. Thus my guess the product is evolving with firmware updates. This listing appears to be between the 2 with 8TB drives and 50 max. I am using mine for smaller drives to consolidate so I haven't tested capacity. Newegg you need to get Orico on here to explain. Can I do a firmware and go to 16TB drives, or ????? I can't help much beyond that.

ORICO 5 Bay Hard Drive Docking Station Enclosure with Duplicator Offline Clone Function

1. Insert Source Disk into hard drive bay, then insert Target Disk into another.

2. Push the PC / CLONE switch on the back of the hard drive to the CLONE side.

3. Connect power supply and press the POWER switch.

4. Then press the START Button on the back.

5. A Blue LED will flash on 20% indicating that the cloning process has begun.

6. The cloning process is complete when ALL the lights turn solid Blue (20%-100%).

7. Finally press the POWER switch and eject your drives.

Note: HDD is not included.

Kindly Note:

It can only recognize 1 Bay HDD/SSD under Linux operating system.
