The lens is a part of the Contemporary line within Sigma's Global Vision series, facilitating notable optical performance while balancing it conveniently. The design comes with three FLD, two SLD elements, and two aspherical elements that reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations and limit distortion. Further, the rounded nine-blade diaphragm adds smoothness and results in astounding bokeh quality.



The Super Multi-Layer Coating suppresses flare and ghosting and renders higher contrast and color fidelity in strong lighting conditions and harsh climates. In addition, the stepping AF motor outputs quick and quiet autofocus. The AF motor even allows full-time manual focus override.







Although the Standard zoom lens is designed for Lecia-L mount cameras, it is compatible with APS-C models also. The lens provides 24 mm equivalent focal length in APS-C Camera models. The bayonet mount brass-constructed ensures accuracy and durability. Further, a rubber sealing incorporated in the mount design makes the lens dust and splash-resistant.
