The CGX Equatorial 1100 HD Telescope is a state-of-the-art device that combines Celestron's advanced CGX computerized equatorial mount with the renowned EdgeHD optical system. Despite its lightweight optical tube assembly of just 28 lbs., this telescope is designed to be portable, making it ideal for stargazing in dark skies. It boasts an impressive 89% more light gathering power than an 8" telescope and 40% more than the 9.25", making it a powerful tool for both amateur and professional astronomers. Designed for astrophotography, the CGX mount provides a robust platform with a smooth, heavy-duty belt drive system.

It features electronic and ergonomic enhancements that facilitate worry-free remote operation, complemented by advanced software. The EdgeHD is an aplanatic, flat field Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that delivers aberration-free images across a wide visual and photographic field of view. Its optical system is specifically designed to reduce more than just off-axis star coma, providing an astrograph-quality flat focal plane to the edge of the field-of-view. Unlike many optical designs that claim to be "astrographs", the EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane that is more than three times flatter than a standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. This results in rounder, more pleasing stars and improves the resolution and limiting magnitude when compared to telescopes of equal aperture.

With Celestron's StarBright XLT optical coatings on every surface, EdgeHD optics ensure maximum light throughput across the widest visual and photographic spectrum. The telescope tube has been redesigned to optimize your viewing experience. It features mirror clutches and flexible tension clutches that hold the mirror in place, reducing image shift during long exposure astro-images. Cooling vents located on the rear cell allow hot air to be released from behind the primary mirror, each vent featuring an integrated 50-mesh filter to prevent dust from entering. The CGX Equatorial 1100 HD Telescope is Fastar-compatible, allowing the secondary mirror to be removed and replaced with a third-party lens accessory for ultra-fast f/2 wide field imaging.
