Why DDR4 RAM is so expensive?

DDR4 RAM is expensive because most manufacturers have shifted production to DDR5, reducing DDR4 supply, while securing limited DDR4 allocations mainly for servers and enterprise systems instead of desktop PCs; combined with ongoing demand, past production cuts, and distributor markups, this keeps prices high.

Is this single-RANK or dual-RANK? I'm not asking if it works in dual-channel mode; that is something different.
