- These Vintage Staggered for Stratocaster pickups (SSL-1) utilize hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and heavy Formvar magnet wire with a unique winding pattern to deliver a bright, glassy, bell-like tone featuring the bounce and sparkle characteristic of the finest Strat pickups from the 1950s. Since 1978, these vintage Fender-style single coil pickups have been manufactured with the accurate color and thickness of Forbon flatwork, along with period-accurate magnet stagger. Each pickup arrives complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-up wires and a traditional keyed bottom plate. The flatwork is hand-filed, assembled, and the bobbin is lacquered, replicating the techniques of Fender's Golden Age.
