Using the built-in translucent screen, you can cast weak reflections or diffuse and soften the strong noonday sunlight by holding the reflector over your subject's head.

By putting on the black-white screen, you can either reduce the amount of light that hits your subject with a black side or cast soft reflection with a white side. However, if your goal is to give a punchier higher contrast, turn to the screen with a silver side. For golden warmth, similar to that given by late afternoon sun, the same screen's gold side is your best choice.
