In 'latching' mode, it simply turns the effect on and off, and in 'momentary', the effect is only applied for as long as you press and hold the footswitch. In 'A/B' mode, you can switch between two different effects, and when relevant, you can also tap the tempo, using the footswitch. And then, of course, there is the MASH function.
