The Quake Alert can wake you up when the "P" wave (sound wave) reaches your location before the "S" wave (shear wave) passes through giving you a few seconds or many seconds of warning and can remove the guess work about any motion or loud sound. (Batteries included)
Often when an earthquake begins it can confuse people. They may freeze and whonder what is happening. Is it a large truck? A slamming garage door? Or some other loud boom. The Quake Alert takes the guess work out of knowing and being aware and able to take emergency action. Seconds count when reacting to an emergency situation.
The Quake Alert has no network delay in alarm delivery like the USGS ShakeAlert Earthquake alert systems and TV tower signal alarm unit systems. The Quake Alert does not rely on ShakeAlert's slower regional sensors and broadcast feeds. Quake Alert works offline. If cell towers overload or power grids fail during a big quake, it will still sound the alarm. If your cell phone is off or silenced you will not receive a USGS warning. The Quake Alarm warns you of actual Earth motion under your feet in real time and can wake you up so you are instantly alerted. It also offers an inexpensive backup detection option to the USGS Earthquake warning system. Seconds count and awareness can save lives!
If in the rare event during a very large earthquake your building suffers a collapse and you are trapped, you can use the Quake Alert as a rescue signal by pulsing the signal to on and off by pulsing battery contact so you can be located by rescuers. It will also sound a steady alarm if it gets tipped with even the slightes amount of tilt during a building collapse. If it is near your bed this will also help first responders locate your general location for rescue.
Securely mounts using a large 3M high adherence stick-on pad. Also comes with an optional nail to help prevent slipage in case the painted surface is a bit older. The Quake Alert comes with an Emergency LED wall mounted light. In a larger earthquake, total power failures are not uncommon so an Emergency Light can provide a huge safety advantage..
