Does the camera need WiFi to record?
No. Records entirely offline to the SD card. No WiFi, no internet, no signal of any kind. No connectivity issues, no dropped connections, no dead zones. Works anywhere there is a wall outlet. Nothing to detect and nothing to hack.
Does it charge my devices?
Charges Android phones, Bluetooth speakers, earbuds and standard USB devices. Compatible with iPhone 15 and newer if you have a USB-A to USB-C cable. Not compatible with Apple Lightning connector cables. Camera function is unaffected by charging.
Does the camera record audio?
No. Audio recording is disabled via firmware. The camera records video only. This keeps LOKX compliant with recording laws across all US states and avoids two party consent audio recording issues.
How good is the video at night or in the dark?
Not an infrared night vision camera. Films using normal visible light. Dark clips are automatically brightened by the LOKX app. In spaces with almost no light footage may be grainy. A night light or hallway light gives dramatically clearer footage.
What happens when the SD card is full?
The camera automatically overwrites oldest footage via loop recording so it never stops. To keep specific clips permanently use the Vault feature in LOKX to encrypt and protect them before they are overwritten.
