All of todays modern balanced audio equipment with the standard 3 pin XLR are wired with PIN 2 for the hot. However, there was a time when there was not standardization for the 3 pin XLR and and vintage manufactures like AMPEX and OTARI used PIN 3 for the hot signal.
These premium quality pro audio cables are ideal for use with OTARI Reel to Reel Recorders and other vintage audio equipment that uses PIN 3 of the XLR for the hot signal. This cable will convert the PIN3 on one end to PIN 2 on the other. Cables are hand assembled with our proprietary OFC wire and pro audio connectors and terminated with our high quality, lead free solder.
In addition, all cables are 100% QC and tested and specially labeled for easy identification to avoiding confusion with standard audio cables. Cables are sold in pairs and color coded (red for right). Available in lengths from 3 to 30 feet. For longer cables, please contact our customer service by phone or email. Limited lifetime warranty.
