It can also function as a doorbell by pairing with a compatible button. It can support the use of up to 3 Z-Wave buttons, each sold separately. It is compatible with certified Z-Wave gateways including Samsung SmartThings, HomeSeer, Open Z-Wave, and Zipabox (Note: Not compatible with Vera). Z-Wave Plus and Z-Wave S2 certification provides quicker response time, better wireless range up to 490 feet in open space, and additional wireless security encryption.
