Conceal wires neatly using the provided pry tool before installing the rear camera. The red wire inside the rear camera main cable is the reversing trigger wire. It enables the reversing guide lines once connected to a 12V power source. When the vehicle is put into reverse gear, reversing guide lines will show on the rear display of the dashcam. If you do not need this function, you can leave this wire unconnected. The standard recording function of the dashcam will continue to work fully
