- Test rechargeable and alkaline batteries. Works for all: AAA, AA, C, D, N, 9V batteries and Lithium Ion button cell. Simple operation in 3 easy steps: 1) Select the voltage range (1.5V, 1.2V, or 3.0V depending on the battery type used). 2) Pull the orange tray outward and insert one battery into the tester in the correct direction of polarity. 3) Slide the tray closed for a positive connection, and the LED will display voltage and strength levels. Remove the battery when the test is complete. Multiple types: Select 1.5V for alkaline AA, AAA, C, D, & N batteries. Select 1.2V for rechargeable AA, AAA, C, D & N batteries. Select 3V for lithium button cell battery. Touch the contacts on the left side of the tester for a 9V battery
