Connects to your router via Ethernet, then uses coax outlets to create wired network connections in other rooms. DOES NOT WORK WITH AT&T U-VERSE OR SATELLITE TV WIRING: AT&T U-verse uses HPNA technology which conflicts with MoCA - this product will NOT work with U-verse service. If your home was EVER wired for DirecTV, Dish Network, or AT&T U-verse satellite service, MoCA will HIGHLY LIKELY NOT WORK. Satellite/U-verse installations reconfigure coax wiring by isolating outlets or disconnecting them from the main splitter. Even if you no longer have these services, the wiring changes usually remain.
COMPATIBLE INTERNET SERVICES - IF COAX IS PROPERLY WIRED: Works with Cable internet (Comcast/Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox, Optimum, Mediacom), Fiber internet (Verizon Fios, Google Fiber, Frontier Fiber), DSL, or other non-U-verse services. Your internet type doesn' t matter - what matters is that your coax outlets are interconnected through a main splitter (standard cable TV configuration, NOT satellite or U-verse wiring). Delivers up to 1 Gbps speeds.
REQUIRED: INTERCONNECTED
COAX NETWORK: All coax outlets must connect to a central splitter for MoCA to work.
WILL NOT WORK with: AT&T U-verse service (uses conflicting HPNA technology), Satellite TV wiring (DirecTV/Dish/U-verse satellite), isolated coax runs not connected to a splitter, or homes with no coax outlets.
COMPATIBILITY TEST: If you previously had traditional cable TV service and could watch TV from multiple room outlets, your wiring is likely compatible.
POE FILTER - CABLE INTERNET USERS ONLY: If you have cable internet with a DOCSIS 3.1 or 4.0 " high-split" modem (common with Comcast/Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox), you MUST install a Point of Entry (POE) filter at your main cable entry point or MoCA will NOT function properly. The filter prevents interference from high-split cable modems. Fiber internet and DSL users do NOT need a POE filter. U-verse users cannot use this product regardless of filter.
