The Audio-Technica AT-VM95SP is a dual moving-magnet turntable cartridge with a 3 mil stylus, designed for playing 78 rpm records; it suits collectors and listeners building a setup for SP record playback.
Recommended For
- Collectors who regularly play shellac 78 rpm records and need a stylus shaped for their wider grooves; the AT-VM95SP is designed specifically for 78 rpm playback.
- Listeners using a turntable that supports 78 rpm who want to play vintage mono SP records with a dedicated 3 mil stylus rather than a standard LP stylus.
- Archivers transferring 78 rpm mono records who want a stereo cartridge that can preserve separate groove-channel signals for later comparison; Audio-Technica notes that channel selection requires a suitable archiving phono preamp or equalizer.
