Am i seeing this right? I just GOT one of the CPUS and it looks like a thin, clear film over the pins? Is this removable or does it need to be? Maybe I'm not seeing this right arrived in a clamshell with no paperwork or instructions kinda let in dark here

Yes, u have to remove it, that processor is not sold at retal like the rest, is sold for pc build companies, thats why u wont be seeing any box or paperwork with it.
