Can I add external memory?

I was able to connect my 2tb portable hard drive to the unit using the mini-usb port on the tablet. you can tehn access the data from the portable hard drive or move data from the tablet to the hard drive. The specs say you can add up to 64mb of memory by inserting a micro SD card in the tablet. I tried to add a 64mb card and it wouldn't mount the memory. I put a 32mb card in and it was able to mount. Not sure if there was a problem with the card or the tablet. Hope this helps.

Do i need a service plan for this to work online?
like a Verizon phone plan for example...

No.  It does not come with the ability to connect to a cellular network, only wifi.
So to work online you would need access to a wireless internet connection (wifi) like that of any popular internet provider or in most fast food chains/coffee shops.

If I get this is the lollipop firmware really as buggy as people say it is?  I see a lot of forum threads where people are rolling back to kitkat.

Hey Mike, I haven't experienced any lag or anything buggy since I've upgraded to lollipop. I had it for a about a week and I am very pleased with its performance so far. The only thing I dislike about upgrading to lollipop, it doesn't have a option to show the battery life percentage. That's just my personal preference. Other than that, I have no issues with lollipop.

Unit comes with 16 GB of storage memory which can't be upgraded, But has a Micro SD card slot that will accept up to 64 GB card.

Lenovo has upgraded the specs to include a 1.7 Ghz processor. Can anybody tell me if this is new stock that will include the new specs?

Thank You! As crazy as this sounds, I'm going to be driving through Indianapolis over the next few days. I think I'm going to stop at the Newegg "Will Call" pickup window there to confirm this for myself. I hate to get something I don't like and fool around with returning it and whatnot.

The only way to add more would be to use a SD card. I have mine with 32GB of onboard storage and then I added a 64GB SD card and it allows me more space.

I'm not familiar with the issue you reference, but I've had no problem with the USB port for the month I've had this tablet.

What about the screen glass...is it gorilla glass 3 or something else

That is a great question. I wish I had asked it before I purchased it.

I'm not exactly sure what the glass is but I have another device that has gorilla glass 3 and this tablet's glass doesn't feel similar. If you drag your finger completely across the length of the glass you will notice quite a bit of resistance.

I didn't like the glass but I found a way around it buy purchasing a screen cover for it. I chose to use a matte screen protector because the reflection is very distracting when outdoors. I should remind you  that this tablet has a IPS screen and not a AMOLED screen so it's not as bright and doesn't have the greatest viewing angles.

Yes this has Satellite, Glonass, Beidou.
FM is only obtainable if you plug in headphones.

Question 10

The specs show MTK 1.5 GHz 64-bit Quad-Core Processor but other retailers are selling an upgraded version with a 1.7 GHz Processor. One local brick and mortar retailer had those same specs on the shelf tag, but the tablet on display had the upgraded processor. Have the specs to this unit been upgraded?

It's a 1.5 that can produce speeds up to 1.7  My understanding is they are all 1.5 GHz that have this capability. It's a nice tablet. I have used mine every day for 7 months, no problems and plenty fast enough.
