Description:
The APDS-9930 provides an I2C interface compatible Ambient Light Sensor (A LS,Ambient Light Sensor) and proximity Sensor with infrared LED in a single 8-pin package. The Ambient Luminance Sensor uses dual photo diodes to approximate the human eye's visual response with low lumen performance at 0.01 Lux illuminance, providing high sensitivity that allows the device to operate behind dark glass. Proximity sensors are fully calibrated for 1 00 mm object detection, eliminating the need for factory calibration of terminal equipment and secondary components. Proximity detection works well in everything from bright sunlight to dark rooms. The micro opticaI lens is added into the module to provide high efficiency transmission and reception of infrared energy, which can reduce the over all power consumption. In addition, the internal state machine can put the device into low power mode, resulting in very low average power consumption.
