Question 1

So... this uses sata3 bus right? why is that a bad thing? I saw this in a review. Also does this SSD go well with DDR4 memory? One last thing I've been wondering is if the bigger the drive, can that be a factor to it being slower or does that not matter? Thanks for any help. I really would appreciate it.

Hi, for starters, let me say I've used other, cheaper,  brands of SSD's and the only one I am buying from now on is Samsung; they always work on any project. My best computer, that I'm typing on now, uses ddr3, but search google for 'samsung ssd ddr4' and you'll see that Samsung pdf that recommends this ssd with ddr4. I've had 1tb and 2tb Samsung evo and ev pro ssd's and they always speed up the system. I bought a couple of "bargain" ssd's and by the time I installed them and they wouldn't even work on the pc I was upgrading, it was too late to return them, so I kept looking for a pc until I could find one that tolerated it. I assume the drive controller becomes the compatibility issue with some of these cheaper drives. Look on Newegg and you'll find the ones with the lower ratings! Stick with Samsung and pay a little bit more now for a lot less hassle down the road.

Does the Samsung Vertical 1GH SSD fit in a laptop?

Yes! I am a happy customer of this product and bought it to replace the non SSD drive in my HP laptop.  As long at the laptop has a standard SATA III drive, this should work as a replacement.  (it may take a tech to help you transfer your files to the new drive)  NOTE: If you have an ultrathin laptop, chances are it does NOT use a standard SATA III drive.  Best wishes!

$1000 for this?  Come on?  I can get Intel 750 SSD nvme for that price which has 4X better performance and only slightly less capacity.

The Intel 750 1.2TB has 40% less capacity, not slightly less.

And you can't put the Intel 750 in your laptop.

Also, apparently the Intel 750 is very slow at booting Windows.

That said, I'm going to have one of these, and one Intel 750 in a 1U server I'm building.  Best of both worlds!

Question 4

Can you raid these? I would like to purchase 5 and stick them in a server on raid 0.

Yes you can, but RAPID mode, a feature of the Samsung Magician software, will only work for one of the SSDs.  I also would consider the limitations of SATA III as 2 of these SSDs pretty much exhaust the bandwidth of SATA III already.

Note: I have not set up a RAID configuration with these SSDs and only speak from previous experiences.  I do own one of them.

can this go in Macbook Pro 15in from 2013 or later ?

If the drive you are replacing is the standard 2.5" drive then yes. If it has the "ram stick" looking SSD hard drive then you would need to purchase a different drive.

What is the TBW of the Pro vs the EVO?

MLC nand is good for about 3000 rewrites, so 6000 TB or so (ie in a typical desktop use you will die before it will, unless you live to 150). Warranty is 300TB/10 years, but SSD's tend to far outlive (by 10-20x) their rewrite warranty as far as  hard failing goes.

Does this pop into a Lenovo L450?

it should pop in just like any other 2.5" drive. May not be support by your bios however. Store bought complete computers usually only come with bios support for hard drives listed as available options from the computer manufacturer.

I think your laptop has a slot for a M.2 drive. I would take the plate off on the bottom and look to see if you have a slot open to install the drive to. Look on youtube and see if you can find your exact laptop being fixed or taken apart to make sure it will fit.
