Question 1

Can this motherboard support high-speed memory modules?

Accepted Answer

What makes memory "high speed"? For example, DDR4-2666 isn’t some slouch — that’s 2,666 million transfers per second. Yes, literally billions of data transfers flying back and forth every second. Even the “basic” JEDEC 3200 MT/s spec translates to 3.2 billion transfers per second. Not exactly slow-poke territory.
This board is capable of modules that go into 4400 MT/s as long as the modules are listed on the QVL.

Question 2

Can I connect multiple storage devices to this motherboard?

Accepted Answer

This motherboard has 4 SATA 6Gb/s ports and 2 M.2 connectors (One PCIe gen 4 and one PCIe gen 3) for storage. The spec sheet is wrong, there are only 4 SATA headers.

Question 3

Just bought this and the SSUPD Xhuttle Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case and the LEDs on the case listed aren't working. Does this motherboard allow the use of case LEDs? If not am I just plugging them into the wrongs pins? I have the HD Audio cord from the case plugged into F_Audio on the board and the other cord plugged into one of the two LED pin ports, specifically the one with three pins.

Accepted Answer

The product specifications indicate that the motherboard has 2 x addressable LED strip headers and 2 x RGB LED strip headers, which suggests that it does support case LEDs.

Question 4

What CPUs are compatible with this motherboard?

Accepted Answer

The motherboard is compatible with the AM4 chipset and works best with the Ryzen 3000 Series, Ryzen 3000G Series, Ryzen 4000G Series, Ryzen 5000 Series, and Ryzen 5000G Series CPUs.

Question 5

Is the GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI6 R a good buy for a Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 3060 build, or should I pick a different B550 micro-ATX board?

Accepted Answer

It's a good motherboard for your Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 3060, Im using the GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI 6 with an RTX 3070 and the same CPU as you and I can say that it is really good.

Question 6

MB GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI6 R vs MSI B550M Mortar WiFi: which offers better VRM thermals and BIOS features for Ryzen 5000 builds?

Accepted Answer

The MSI B550M Mortar WiFi has better VRM thermals that can handle 5000 series processors cooler than with the GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI6, also, the BIOS is easy to use, like more intuitive compared to the GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI6.

Question 7

How many M.2 NVMe slots does the GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI6 R have, and do they support PCIe 4.0 with Ryzen 5000 CPUs?

Accepted Answer

The GIGABYTE B550M GAMING X WIFI6 AM4 Micro ATX Motherboard has two M.2 connectors. The first M.2 connector (M2A_CPU) supports PCIe 4.0x4/x2 SSDs with Ryzen 5000 Series Processors.

Question 8

Will the M2-2 slot work with a graphics card installed?

Accepted Answer

I guess you're talking about the second m.2 slot that supports PCIe 3.0 speeds, the answer is YES, the M2-2 slot will work with a graphics card installed because the graphics card uses a different slot (the PCIe x16 slot) which doesn't interfere with any of the two m.2 slots (the main one that supports PCIe 4.0 speeds or the second one that supports PCIe 3.0 speeds)

Question 9

What is the memory speed support of this motherboard?

Accepted Answer

The motherboard supports memory speeds of DDR4 2133, DDR4 2667, DDR4 2933, and DDR4 3200.

Question 10

What kind of expansion slots are available on this motherboard?

Accepted Answer

The motherboard has the following expansion slots: 1 x PCI Express 4.0 x16 slot, 1 x PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX4) supporting PCIe 3.0 and running at x4, and 1 x PCI Express x1 slot (PCIEX1) supporting PCIe 3.0 and running at x1.
