Does that mean i don't need a sound card?

I have been quite pleased with the audio quality. The ports are listed under the specifications, so it depends on what speakers/phones you are using, but I have Corsair SP2500s (2-300 decent quality), and the audio quality has been quite sufficient. Best advice I have is to use the on-board audio, and if you find it lacking, upgrade.

FYI: I am not an audiophile, but I enjoy a good range of music, and listen to it regularly. Most of my audio is greater than mp3 quality, but not lossless codec.

Question 2

This board says it supports HDMI In.  In the video, when going over the back panel he says that it has two HDMI outs.  Was he mistaken and one of those is the HDMI in port?

It does have an HDMI-In port, it's the vertically mounted port on the back.  However, it's not a capture port, just a passthrough switch (like a receiver).  It only works when using the onboard graphics

Will the Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155  work with this mobo? I'm seeing people list their stuff with this CPU but the socket is different, just curious if it does indeed work with the mobo.

Question 4

I'm used to having 2 screens and i'd like to keep it that way for this next computer I'm buying. Right now I mainly use a laptop and a 1920 x 1080 screen attached to it, i only see one VGA port on this, can i support having 2 screens? or would i need to buy a splitter or something?

No you would not need to buy a splitter.  Right out of the box, this motherboard supports triple monitor display (three monitors running simultaneously) and has 3 separate display inputs on it: VGA, DVI, and HDMI.

If you wanted to run 2 monitors in VGA, you would just need a DVI-to-VGA adapter for the DVI port and you could plug two VGA monitors in.  I'd recommend using digital input (DVI or HDMI) at this point in time of technology, but it's not a requirement.

This motherboard has great on-board display capabilities/features.

Question 5

I understand this motherboard is Windows 8 ready. However, does this mean that it's compatible with only Windows 8 or can I install Windows 7 instead?

It will run windows 7 with no issues. I dual boot Windows 8 and windows 7 on mine. I have a couple of programs that do not like windows 8.

Question 6

I'm making sure I don't need to buy a separate video card for this. Will an Intel Core i3-4130 meet the requirements of "Supported only by CPU with integrated graphic"? Dubious statement in the specifications section. Thanks!

You don't need a separate graphics card, since the Intel core i3-4130 does have Intel HD Graphics 4400, but it's not going to handle much more than video streaming, not much in the way of gaming.

Will this work with COD Ghost, Need to up grade but I don't need another useless mother board that is not up to the new Game ??

I am running it with a i5-4570 and a Zotac GeForce 660ti and it has ran everything I throw at it on ultra. So I see no reason why not.

Question 8

Will this board allow me to use 2 graphics cards independently to display more than 2 monitors, or do I have to do sli and limit myself to two monitors?

When you run two graphics cards, you have to enable SLI via the software (you'll be running two cards independently by default). So, yes, you can run two monitors, each powered by its own graphics card. Though, keep in mind, depending on what graphics card you plan to buy or use, you can usually run at least four monitors with a single graphics card (most modern graphics cards have two DVI connectors, one HDMI and one DisplayPort); depending on what you plan to do with your graphics card/s, you might only need one.

Just so you know, you can actually run three monitors with this motherboard, without a single added GPU (using the on-board GPU. If you go this route, you will need an HDMI cable, DVI cable and a DisplayPort cable.

Question 9

It explicitly says it supports SLI right on the board, is it safe to assume it supports CrossfireX too?

The Specifications Tab on the Product page here on Newegg does state :
"Supports AMD Quad CrossFireX, 3-Way CrossFireX, CrossFireX"
"Supports NVIDIA Quad SLI and SLI"

The back of the motherboard box says:
"Multi GPU: NVIDIA QUAD SLI, AMD 3-way CrossfireX"

This is a little conflicting, Quad or 3-way for CrossfireX, I'm not sure. But like I said the product packaging does state 3-way, at least. Hope that helps.

Is this the updated version with C2 stepping?

All new Asrock motherboards include C2 stepping. It doesn't look like Newegg is making any distinction though in their inventory. If you can guarantee you are getting a newer board then it will have C2.
