So it has FIVE (5) PCI-E slots but only comes with THREE (3) PCI-E cables? That doesn't make sense to me. Is this true?

True, it comes with three 6+2 PCI-E cables and a 12VHPWR cable. Will work with virtually any video card. You will have to buy more cables for SLI, etc.

Question 2

What is the noise rating of the 1200W version?  Is it the same as that of the 1000W (PSU Noise Level -- Cybenetics A)?

Official noise numbers have not been published by Seasonic. My own personal experience plus other review sites will tell you that noise levels are very good. When your PC is idle you will not hear the PSU fans at all. At higher loads the fans might be heard depending on how loud your other case and CPU fans are. Overall very good noise levels from the PSU.

Question 3

Does the 12VHPWR cable have a GPU end and a PSU end? They look indenticle, but one end has a letter "N" on it. Thanks

I had the same question when I purchased mine.  I made the assumption that the side with the 'N' printed on it was the PSU side like the other connectors with some type of code on the PSU side.  When I reached out to Seasonic support, they provided the following reply:

"Your feedback is very valuable and regarding our native 12VHPWR cable coming with VERTEX, you can plug it the way you want as both ends are wired the same way, may it be on PSU side or GPU side.
Nevertheless, clearer information is always better, and we have forwarded your email to our marketing team in order to update our manual and instructions as soon as possible."

Does this PSU come with a warranty?

The 16 pin Gen 5 PCIe connector (12VHPWR) is pictured without the additional plastic covering the sense pins, is that how the final product actually is or did they extend it like the revised standard?

Will Newegg be offering the platinum version of this 1200 watt model and the other Vertex models?

According to Seasonic, they are also releasing Platinum rated versions. For what its worth, the difference in price would take years to recoup versus the Gold rated PSU's. Go to Sesonic's website for details.
