When will this be back to normal price?

I purchased this quite a while ago but it had an obscure problem and returned it. I have not been able to find the processor available from any source since then (many months). I made the switch to a nearly equivalent AMD Ryzen processor (and motherboard). The pricing question is probably best to as Adamant Custom.

Why is the price ~$3K when it is supposed to be around $1K? This can't be just the processor.

I was wondering the same when the MSRP is less than half the asking price. I would guess they just think someone may by it that is unaware.
