THIS WILL WORK ON A INTEL NUC D34010WYK?

Where I used this SSD is in a similar system but not identical.  I installed it in an Xi3 system model Z3RO.  When I talked to Xi3 about a drive to put in it they recommended the Samsung SSD Drives.  It worked great in my application, since my system is different I can only guess but I think it probably would work fine as long as the shape of the card will fit in the socket that you have.  There are different forms of the SSD drives, this one is the mSATA.

Is this compatible with a Samsung Series 9 laptop?  Model # is np900x3a.

I have no idea if it will fit in this application. Samsung may be able to tell you.
The one I have is in a NUC and is fantastic for the applications I have. I would buy this product again.
I ordered the NUC from Newegg and this card came in the bundle but would not fit in the NUC slot. Newegg would not help me by providing a part that fit or determining if there was an adapter. I did find an adapter for an additional $30 from another vendor that let me use this drive. So you might also ask about an adapter when talking to Samsung if they say it will not fit.

The I bought was factory new, unused.  Not sure it came in box or in just sealed plastic, and I bought over 2 years ago.

No, you need a minipcie SSD. mSATA is incompatible.

I need to have a device that's not SandForce to be compatible with Drobo devices. If this MSATA compatible with Drobo?

Samsung's EVO ssd does not use a sandforce controller. They are all Samsung MGX or MEX controllers.
