Is this RAM Mac compatible?  204 pin seems to indicate it is but...

I am writing this answer on my Mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.5 right now, which I installed this RAM into. So it certainly works for the MBP even if it is not advertised as such.

I'm a heavy multitasker, and going from the stock 4GB to 16GB has been the most amazing boost I've ever seen from a single hardware upgrade; I'm currently sitting at 8.9GB used (as shown by MenuMeters) and my system is still buttery-smooth.

I'd guess it will work for most Mac models (though I believe the MacBook Air does not have expandable memory, and older models and/or OSes may not recognize some or all of the 16GB).

Will this work for a Dell Vostro 3450 laptop?

The Manufacturer's specification for your laptop states that the maximum is 8GB, however the memory controller is controlled by the Processor, not the motherboard in these Intel products. The controller for the available Dell processors can handle up to 16G of Ram.

However, if you have a warranty with Dell, they may give you grief if something happens to your system while you have 16G of Ram in there, so put the old Ram back in before shipping it back to them =p

Your options from Dell provide up to a 1333 speed Ram controller, but 1600 may be available as an overclock option.

Is this product compatible for

An MBP 2011 should be able to support this. The memory will only run at the slower speed that the 2011 laptop supports (PC3-10800 if I recall) but should still work just fine. I know it's Mac compatible because I've used it with my 2013 MBP and it runs great!

I just purchased an HP Envy online. Model: m7-j020dx SKU: 1739149. It comes with two 4GB sticks of memory. The specs say it is expandable to 16GB. My question is this 2X8 for 16GB total from G.SKILL compatible with this computer?

So I looked into your laptop, found only 2 issues with the compatibility of it and this ram: 1)The clock speed that your motherboard supports: I wasn't able to find exactly what speed of ram(this ram is 1600mhz) that your laptop supports up to. I would say that it is very likely that your laptop would be able to support 1600mhz, but I would recommend trying to figure this out. If you can't find anything on the net or in the manual about RAM clock speed limits for your machine, I guess you could open the thing up and take the RAM it has in it, out. There should be a sticker on in that says it's speed, and if that speed is >=1600mhz, then your good. Note, though, that using this method may not tell you the max memory speed your laptop can support, it only tells you the speed it's currently using. 2)This computer has DDR3L slots, not DDR3: DDR3L is just DDR3 that runs on 1.35V instead of 1.5V. I found on the net that DDR3L ram is backwards compatible with DDR3 slots, but did not find anything saying for sure that DDR3 ram is forwards compatible with DDR3L slots. There were some posts from people claiming that it is possible to run DDR3 ram in DDR3L slots, but it depends on whether your motherboard supports it. I didn't find anything saying whether your computer supports it, but that doesn't mean for sure that it doesn't. Go look around yourself some, you might find something that I didn't. Personally, if you don't find anything, I wouldn't think that it wouldn't be worth the risk. I looked around for some other DDR3 ram that runs on 1.35V instead of 1.5V(this is what newegg sells DDR3L ram as) and I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231705 It's the same price and brand, has 9 reviews all with 4-5 eggs; this looks like the ram you should probably get(assuming that you can use 1600mhz ram). Personally, I've had 3 sets of GSKILL ram, and they've all been great. I would definitely recommend GSKILL.

I put 4 of these (16g) into my lenovo X220. X220 specified 8g as recommended.  The 16g is working fine, not a problem.  I recommend this product.  I do not work for lenovo or newegg.

Looks like your laptop maxes at 8 gigs of ram. I just goggled "Gateway NV55S05u ram upgrade" or "gateway nv55s05u specifications". both crucial and cnet said your laptop caps at 8gigs of ram

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1130us, p/n FS126UA#ABA laptop computer.  Will this memory upgrade work in this computer?

I don't know if it will work on the HP but it worked flawlessly on my Lenovo y%80.  Lenovo said my laptop could not support 16GB but I tried anyway and it works fine.

Question 10

Will this work with my Toshiba U945? Crucial scanning recommends 1.35V vs a 1.5V. Is this product still compatible? What are the negative impacts if I use 1.5V instead of 1.35V. Thanks.

The difference between the two is the voltage required to run the RAM at 1600mhz. Despite 1.5v being more than acceptable, a low voltage is generally always better. It means less stress to the CPU memory controller and also allows for more headroom when over-clocking.

As for compatibility, there's no way to check and little need as well. All DDR3 memory should work with any CPU/ combination. However, you do need to check that the speed of your RAM is supported by your motherboard. Although, 1600mhz should be fine.
