The WD_BLACK SN850X is an 8TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD with a heatsink, suited to PC gamers who want substantial game storage and fast loading, with sequential reads up to 7,200 MB/s and writes up to 6,600 MB/s.
Recommended For
- PC gamers with large libraries who want to keep many games installed on one drive and avoid regularly moving or deleting titles. The 8TB capacity is the main fit; the PCIe 4.0 performance also suits a modern gaming PC.
- PS5 owners who want a very large internal game library on an M.2 drive. Sony supports compatible M.2 SSDs up to 8TB and requires a heat-dissipation solution; check the console’s fit requirements before installation.
- PC users who regularly work with large files—such as media libraries or sizable project data—and want high-capacity NVMe storage for frequent reads and writes.
- Builders with a compatible M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slot who want a pre-installed heatsink rather than choosing and fitting a separate M.2 cooling solution.
