Question 2

Will this work with any IDE motherboard? I'm trying to find an HD for my father's eMachines T3265. SeaTools diagnostic software says the current one is a WD1600AB 00DYA0 but it has a bad sector. He's bent on sticking with this dinosaur for a few more years, so I thought I would get a new HD for him. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, this will work with any motherboard that supports the parallel ATA (IDE) interface.

Question 3

I need to replace a Maxtor Diamondmax plus 9 80gb ATA/133 desktop hard drive.  They are only available as a rebuild.  Will this Western Digital be a good substitute?  A SATA will not work since it's the wrong data connector.

The IDE hard drive is becoming harder and harder to find and New Egg is an excellent source for when you are in need.  They have excellent resources and can supply most anything you need.  Now the Hard drive that I purchased from them did not work out of the box.  And to be fair even brand new Cars fresh off of the show room floor have been know to malfunction and break down on the side of the road.  My problem was that I waited way to long to return the defective device to them which meant that they weren't able to assist me and that I need to contact the manufacture for a warranty replacement.  It just wasn't in my interest to do that at the time.  I believe I just received a freak hard drive and through my lazines did not get it replaced.  As with everything in life you pay your money and you take you chances.  With New Egg I believe your chances of getting a viable and reliable replacement hard drive are excellent and if by chance there is another freak hard drive out there and you receive it, New Egg will stand behind their products and make it good.  Just don't wait to let them know that you are having a challenge with the drive.  A very good company to work with.

Is this compatible with Intel Motherboard D865GBF/D865GLC?

After pulling the specs on those mainbords, yes it is compatible.  However I question why you are wanting the ATA when there are SATA connection on those boards.  You may have good reason for that, such as other devices taking up SATA slots.  But I would go SATA for a drive before this one.  I bought it because a customer had only ATA slots available on their old board.

It is a good drive, but there's better technology out there if you can update.

how to repair its 0 sector?

There are some tools out there that will do this. Was it damaged by physically dropping the drive or was it a virus that damaged it? If it was damaged by a virus it very likely can be repaired, if it was dropped while in operation then the damage may not be repairable.
