The product specs state that the keyboard needs a 'high power' usb port meaning +500mA, if I run this keyboard off a laptop will this be an issue?

I agree with the other responses, shouldn't be an issue. I have used on my desktop and laptop. However, if you want be certain about how much power is available and that it will work there are ways to check. With Windows if you go into your "device manager" then the properties of "Generic USB Hub" (Could be named something else but I haven't really ever seen anything else). Then under the power tab it will display how much power is available. If you are using Linux you will need to install a tool through the command line.

How much does this keyboard weigh?

This keyboard weighs around 4 lbs. It is a little bit heavier than your standard keyboard. The top of the keyboard is encased in what appears to be titanium. It is also longer because of the programmable G-keys. However it is an extremely robust keyboard. It can really take a pounding and was definitely built with the gamer in mind. I highly recommend it.

Is the K50 keyboard compatibility with Windows 8.1?
