This is not tied to any wireless carrier that I have found. I just uses a wireless connection to access the internet. It does have a slot for a micro SD card for added storage.

Question 2

Two quick questions for owners:
1: Does it have Bluetooth?

2: Does it have access to the Google Play store?

No it does not have Bluetooth. And yes it does have Google Play store. I got my tablet for free through an MSI Laptop Promotion so I have no complaints about it being free. Is a tad bit slow with 1 GB Ram but it is a tough nice feel tablet for the price.

Does this unit have a GPS Receiver?

Unfortunately it doesn't. I didn't purchase - It was a gift that came with a laptop I bought.

Question 4

Hi!  All I want to use this for is as an e-reader (I want to install Calibre for android and use my library stored on a 32 gb HD card), play a very few small games which I could also store on a card or flash drive if necessary, and possibly access the Internet from home via my wireless router.  Can you see any difficulty with any of these?  Thanks!

Linda,  Yes this is exactly what I did, downloaded Adobe Reader, and a few other android programs to read PDFs.   I found it very easy to set up a Google account (for playstore) and email (I  use live, also) and surf the internet, youtube downloads/streams videos very easy.  Wireless set up was very easy.   Internet browsing seems a little slow, but since the main reason is to use it as an e-reader, I am content with it.  I would recommend it, for the price it is great as a overall tablet, but as an e-reader, you can probably find something less, if you want only an e-reader.  I purchased it as a bundle with a case for a 10in table, don't get the bundle, case is waaay too big.  Hope this helps.

Has anyone tried upgrading to the KitKat 4.4 firmware just released a few days ago?  Any issues during upgrade or post upgrade?  Has the speed issue some owners reported improved?

I upgraded mine several days ago, if  you do the upgrade make sure you remove the SD card if you have one installed. I did not and after performing the update only the backlight would come on. Once the SD card was removed the device ran fine. It took awhile to update the apps at first but once completed the device felt quicker than when it had 4.2 installed.

Can this run VLC Media player w/ no problem?

I am not sure if, VLC is compatible with Android.  I have used VLC on Windows only.

Question 7

my msi 7" tablet froze and i cant unfreeze it,what can i do?

You can also try going to the msi website, download the firmware and software that are used to flash the tablet.  Install software on your PC per included instructions then connect your tablet via USB to your PC.  You can then re-flash the firmware back to factory settings.  Hope this helps.
