does this device support 3g network and WIFI ? There seems to be no much information regarding that in the specifications page. Please do let me know.

It does indeed have WiFi but no 3g or cellular connection of any kind.  Just do what I do and have your phone emit a signal (tethering) so you have FREE WiFi wherever you carry a cell phone.

will this take a SD or Micro SD card for additional storage?

I tested a MicroSD card with 2GB and tablet was able to read its contents. But I don't know what would be the maximum it would support. It would probably be 8 or 16GB

Can you please confirm if this unit has Bluetooth, has 1 GB of ram and uses micro usb to charge?  Thank you!

Yes, this system has 1GB of RAM.  The exact model was the IdeaTab A1000F running Android 4.1.2.  It has Wireless G, Bluetooth, and takes MicroSD cards via a slot on the left side.  The charger uses microUSB similar to that used on Samsung Galaxy phones.  It also has Google Play and not some gawdy Google App Store clone (GetJAR) like many of the less expensive tablets in this price range have.

Can this tablet's OS 4.1 be upgraded?  I read that Google is not Heartbleed patching Android 4.1.

I just got this a couple of weeks ago. Mine is running 4.1.2.
I checked for system updates and it tells me that my system is currently up to date. My guess is that there will be no updates but I do like the tablet. It is a great value at this price. Looks and runs beautifully.
