Is this a prepaid phone or one that can be used with existing t mobile plan?

As far as I know it can be used on an existing plan.  I just looked through the a paperwork that came with it again, and nothing suggests it is for a prepaid plan.  I've only played around with it on the WiFi to see how I liked android, but I never put my SIM card in it.  Reasonably sure you'll be able to use it.  Seems to run well and pretty good deal at $110.  May end up trying to use it as a TV/audio receiver remote control and never use as phone.  Windows phone fan for now.  Good luck.

I'm already a T-Mobile customer. Can I use this phone with my current T-Mobile plan? And what does Locked" vs. "unlocked" mean?

Yes, you can use this phone with your current T-Mobile plan. You can call or go to the shop to have them activate it. This phone comes with a SIM card. Don't let T-Mobile scam you by saying the SIM doesn't work because it does. An unlocked cell phone means you can go to any provider with your cell phone as long as it is compatible (this is a GSM compatible phone it will not work with other carriers who use CDMA like Verizon Wireless). This means that when you travel overseas you can buy a SIM card and potentially use your phone there. I have not had the opportunity to do this, so I don't know if my phone is truly unlocked. T-Mobile is supposed to unlock your phone for you once it is paid off and you have had it for a certain period of time. A locked phone means you cannot transfer between carriers.

Is the phone new in the box?

yes....it is a new phone. however, it is not an unlocked cellphone. So you can use it only with T-Mobile and then unlock it with T-Mobile after about 6 to 7 weeks.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Light from Newegg work with the T-Mobile 4G network?

Indeed it will. Under "Specifications", scroll down to "Connectivity" and next to "4G" you'll see LTE. I'm with T-Mobile at the moment and always see 4G/LTE on the status bar when I turn off Wi-Fi. This, by the way, is one big reason I chose this particular model.

does the phone come with wall charger?

Yes. It comes with a USB cable and an AC adapter that plugs into the wall. The USB cable plugs into this AC adapter. If you need to plug the phone into the computer, you unplug the USB cable from the AC adapter and plug it into your computer.

Yes, the phone is new. It is very responsive and the screen is good. While not a S4, it does compare well. I bought three phones for the family and they are very happy with them.

Yes, it has front and rear cameras. It is a great little phone. I love it. All the advanced features, easy, reliable, solid as a rock, and small!

Does the battery and the charger come with this product?

Phone comes with the battery, wall charger and charger/sync cable. Also comes with a sim card, I think it was for prepaid service that you can setup right from the phone but I'm not sure as I had an existing T-Mobile account. I had to call customer service and give them the sim card number and they activated/added it to my account.

I already have a T-Mobile plan and phone. If I put my current SIM card into this phone will it automatically start working with my current SIM card and plan without unlocking it?

Yes it will.  I did just that.  My SIM card from my old phone was one of those larger ones that didn't fit in the slot in the Galaxy Light.  However, you can make an older SIM card fit with some careful cutting (there are also templates online for reducing the size of the SIM card).

However, using my existing SIM card was rather short lived.  I eventually had to go a T-Mobile store and get my account information transferred over to the SIM card that came with the Galaxy Light.  The problem was that I couldn't make phone calls over WIFI with my older SIM card and needed to use the one that came with the Galaxy.  Besides that, everything else transferred over and worked just fine.

Question 10

Planning to switch to TMobile. Will they activate this phone for a new customer?

I had no problem switching from a Nokia Lumia 710 T-Mobile phone. There is a SIM card in the box you should have no problems with activation on T-Mobile (depends on the account).

I dont think there is an activation fee (assume simple choice month to month plan).

Nice phone good value for money. You will have to experiment with the services that are active, the battery drains a lot faster than on the Nokia Lumia 710, (battery 30% larger on the Samsung Light too).  Possibly the LTE, need to experiment more.
