Does this computer have a built in webcam? I have seen multiple differing replies. Thank you!

The one I received did NOT have a webcam.  It was pretty much as described except that it had a 500 MB hard drive rather than a 320.  I too was hoping to get one with a webcam, but when you buy refurbished, it's always a bit of a crap shoot, and none was promised.  I still think it was a great buy.  If it did have a webcam, I'd buy at least one more.

is this computer able to hook up to the internet with a wire connection? like a service with verizon or optimum

Yes it is. I have used both a jet pack wireless and hard wire and haven't had any issues.

For the price, its great. The processor is a little slow but for the price it meets our needs.

Is it win 7 pro 32 or 64?

I got 64, but you can reinstall when you get it as 64 even if it comes as 32. The product key on the sticker on the bottom will allow either.

Is the OS 32 or 64 bit?

I can only speak for the one I got and it's 64 bit.  Looks like new and very happy with it. I did get a solid state drive (Samsung 120 GB) and reloaded the OS, added 4 GB additional memory. Should do me fine for a long time. Speed is good before the upgrades, SSD made it a bit faster. Running MS Office and Photoshop and it runs perfect.

Question 5

Does this refurbished Lenovo T420 laptop include a built in web camera for video conferencing?  Is the keyboard "spill resistant" like other T400 series lenovo models?  Thank you!

Yes, the T420 has a webcam as well as an overhead keyboard light located in the top of the screen bezel.

It does have the T400 series drain holes in the bottom for liquid spills. (Of course, non-sticky liquids are easier to clean up than sticky or sugary liquids.)

Question 6

Does this Lenovo come with a factory reset disc image? Usually Lenovo's are equipped with such, and pressing F11 will get into the re-imaging mode.
Anyone any knowledge?

Rainer: As a customer, I cannot say what you will receive. What I received did not include any sort of master or recovery disks. I am not aware of the F11 function or feature. Since W7 was under support from Microsoft at the time I called them, but they refused to send a refurbished PC system disk, saying it was no longer in support (which was not true). Now it is true, so I dont believe you will get any help from them.

Since my machine came with a spinning hard disk, I bought and installed an SSD. With basic PC skills and a USB external case these install easily. Now they are 1/2 the price of when I bought mine. I have the original disk as an emergency backup, but SSDs are very reliable and much faster. Acronis is very inexpensive insurance if you are concerned about corruption.

Is RAM upgradable to 8 GB? Does it have an HDMI port? Is the screen matte?

On the unit I received it had 4GB of DDR3 1600 in one slot and there was a free slot where you could add another 4GB stick. (I didn't know that at the time and ordered an 8GB kit thinking there was likely 2x2GB in it, which wasn't the case)

I don't have the laptop handy but I remember the screen being matte. I don't remember if it had an hdmi port.

What is the weight ?

According to Lenovo, the starting weight is 4.9lbs/2.2kg. However, this would be its default configuration with a 6-cell battery. From what I have seen, these refurbished models come with either a 6 or 9-cell battery (mine came with a 9 cell), which will increase the weight a bit. You can expect somewhere between 5-5.5lbs/2.3-2.5kg.

You know, you could always swap the HDD with a Solid State Drive to shave some of the weight off. Just saying. :)
