You have to find out memory spec. from your laptop manual or specs. came with your laptop. It should mention what kind of memory can be upgraded or replaced.

Hey this ram should work fine in your Vostro. You should install it in pairs so that you get the best performance but it will work fine as a single memory as well.

I'm not sure if this is the correct one for you. I installed this RAM into an ASUS laptop. If you're looking to upgrade your RAM you'll need the specifications from your MAC book. I used this RAM because I was simply adding a stick to my preexisting RAM. I had to have matching RAM sticks so my system would work correctly and efficiently. Somewhere in your settings you should be able to find out exactly what size, speed, and latency your current RAM is. If your mac book is using DDR 3 then you'll have to use DDR 3. Depending on what your laptops motherboard can handle will determine what type of RAM upgrade you can or can't do. Biggest thing if you just want to add a stick is to make sure that your specs. match on your existing and your new stick.

I am not sure,  I purchased mine for Dell Latitude.  I would check the system specs or remove the existing memory module to determine, pins, speed and voltage.

Yes it's compatible. But it's recommend that you purchase two and use 2x identical modules instead of 2x modules from different manufacturers.

I bought this ram for a Toshiba laptop. I actually ended up contacting Kingston direct on their online chat to see if it would work with my laptop. Kingston was very friendly and helpful about answering all of my questions concerning this ram.

YenMin L, I'm sorry but the memory module did _not_ work for my Gateway laptop and was therefore returned. I have no idea if it works for the machine you mentioned.

I would have absolutely no idea. I installed it on a Gateway NV79C, 
and it didn't work, so I returned it.

I suggest you look at the "Product Specifications" page to find out 
what type of memory yours uses.
