Another Soild Gigabyte board
Pros: Like another reviewer said... it's all you need. I'm not an over-clocker.... in fact, I think the obsession with squeezing another mega or giga hertz out of your CPU is just plain SILLY ! I don't get it. Also trialed an ASrock Extreme4 and it was a total disaster compared to my experience with the UD3P. Windows 10 x64 is just FAST and STABLE with this board.
Cons: Didn't do my homework completely and found out after the purchase that my SM951 required an additional hardware investment in an x4 adapter card in order to unleash its full potential. Oh well. The horizontal orientation of the ATX4P connector is just stupid. My mouse pointer moves very slowly in the UEFI bios which is annoying.
Overall Review: I'm a Gigabyte fan for sure. Have used all different brands over the years - I'm sure Gigabyte will provide support for this product for many years to come..
Perfect for a larger than "normal" size micro ATX board
Pros: For the price this case is awesome, especially since it will house a Lenovo P410 motherboard which is slightly larger by .5 inch than your typical micro ATX board. The fans move enough air and are very quiet without any speed control device or resistors. And the top placement of the USB 3 port and power button is awesome and allows for easy access regardless of the way the case is oriented under a desk. There is plenty of width to hide cables in the back.
Cons: Obviously not the bomb proof type chassis of a ThinkStation P410, but I'm not going to be throwing it around like some reckless sysadmin. And what do you want for $37 ???
Overall Review: Can't go wrong with this case, don't let the naysayers fool you. Excellent bang for the buck !
Longevity?
Pros: Power !
Cons: None.
Overall Review: 8 years and still going strong. Currently powering my company's Haswell X99 workstation/server 24/7. Glad to see many others having same results !
Perfect server case for my NAS4Free ZFS NAS
Pros: Plenty of space to work with, very quiet, and the hard drive racks are just superb. It was on sale and I got a great price.
Cons: can't think of any
Overall Review: blows away any supermicro server chassis
Poor man's (smart man's) server board for NAS4Free ZFS
Pros: Asus engineering ECC support Cheap after rebate !
Cons: PCIE x1 oddly placed large for uATX
Overall Review: Running NAS4Free ZFS with 32 gb ECC ----- perfect! Supports the following memory: Crucial CT2KIT102472BD160B (Newegg Item#: N82E16820148770) Kingston KVR13LE9S8/4 (Newegg Item#: N82E16820239665) These are the modules I use in my servers. I also disabled the NIC and use the LSI 9211-8i for the controller.
manual sucks
Pros: perfect once you figure it out
Cons: manual sucks
Overall Review: I think the consensus is clear..... everyone is very pleased to own this produce once they figure out what part goes where and how. It is disrespectful to provide a manual that just sucks.
