Fujitsu MBA3147RC 147GB 15000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Fujitsu MBA3147RC 147GB 15000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Sustained read speeds of 119MB/s, as compared to my previous 10,000 rpm raptor with a mere 86 MB/s. I plugged the drive in and it picked it up. No problems with the drive.

Cons: The only con I can think of is the noise. I wouldn't so much say that it's loud ; It is however definitely not silent. If you're looking for a completely silent drive, I'd look elsewhere.

Overall Review: I encountered a snag with this drive, which was absolutely no fault of the drive. I encountered driver issues. Just make sure that your operating system has driver support "out of the box" or a fresh install on this drive might prove a little tricky. I had to make a bootable usb key with a custom kernel to get an operating system on this drive. And of course make sure that your board supports serial attached scsi.

Level Mount AIMOA 10"-47" Full Motion TV Wall Mount LED & LCD HDTV Up to VESA 75, 100, 200 400 and 600 max load 70lbs Compatible with Samsung, Vizio, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and Toshiba TV
Level Mount AIMOA 10"-47" Full Motion TV Wall Mount LED & LCD HDTV Up to VESA 75, 100, 200 400 and 600 max load 70lbs Compatible with Samsung, Vizio, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and Toshiba TV

Pros: The assembly of this mount was all very straightforward so that the included directions were not needed. The two piece construction allows for anchoring into the wall to be easy, as well as attachment to the tv. Once you have the mount piece attached to the wall, and the other piece connected to the tv, simply lift and slide in.

Cons: The anchoring screws were very poor. I went to a hardware store and bought some stainless steel torx head screws that shot into the studs by way of my drill with extreme ease. The heads of the included screws wanted to strip out. If you're mounting this above your head, better screws are recommended, so you don't have to apply ridiculous force to keep them from stripping out.

Overall Review: The mounting to the wall was a pain before I got the replacement screws, afterwards, was a breeze, had the tv on the wall in 10 mins.

update to previous review--disappointment

Noctua NF-P14 FLX 140mm Case cooler
Noctua NF-P14 FLX 140mm Case cooler

Pros: Moves a lot of air, especially at full speed. The included hardware allows for mounting in 12cm holes, 14cm holes, with noise dampening silicone inserts or the threading fan screws. Two adapters to control rpm and noise. High quality product. Manufacturers included information very informative.

Cons: After removing all other fans in my case, including the ones in the power supply and video card, I was left with only noctua fans, four of these, and two of the nf-p12. I kept ruling out noise after noise, only to be left with the fact that these fans, while more mild than the power supply and video card fan, do indeed make their fair share. I can unhook one of the p12 and not notice a noise drop, but unhooking one of these is noticeable. I run these at ultra low noise and the p12 at low noise.

Overall Review: If a 12cm fan will work, the p12 is much quieter, and at the low noise setting is rated at more air flow than this one at ultra low noise, while being much more silent. These are not bad, they're in fact fine fans, but the p12 trumps it.

great fan

Noctua NF-P12, Premium Quiet Fan, 3-Pin (120mm, Brown)
Noctua NF-P12, Premium Quiet Fan, 3-Pin (120mm, Brown)

Pros: The moved air in proportion to the noise is phenomenal. The acoustics of the noise are very harmonic. At the low noise setting, it's amazingly quiet. With other fans installed, I can't hear the difference in this fan plugged in or not plugged in. Best fan I've ever owned.

Cons: NONE.

Overall Review: These are way better than the 14 inch version in terms of noise. At the low noise setting on this fan, rated at 16.9 dba, it's quieter than the ultra low noise of the 14 inch version, rated at 10.1 dba. I have 2 of these in my case, and 4 of the 14 inch version. I run these at low noise, supposedly 16.9 dba, and the 14 in at ultra low noise, supposedly 10.1 dba. I can unplug one of these, and not notice the difference. Unplugging the 14in I can hear a noise drop.

Noctua NF-P14 FLX 140mm Case cooler

Pros: This fan moves a lot of air. There are two included adapters to engage the low noise and ultra low noise modes. I'm using it in the low noise setting and the air flow is very satisfactory, and the noise isn't noticeable. The mounting holes are that of a 120mm fan, meaning if you have 120mm holes and no obstructions within about a cm on either side of them, you can use this fan for that application. The hardware included is very nice. There are adapters to extend the mounting holes to 140mm, making this a nice versatile fan.

Cons: none

Overall Review: The fan design, between the blades and the bearing is phenomenal, there is no comparison with the standard sleeve bearing fans. The harmonic acoustics of the generated noise are also great. I replaced two of my case fans with noctua fans, this one went on the front to cool my harddrives. I will be replacing the other two fans in my case with noctua fans in the coming weeks. In spite of the price this is an excellent fan, and it carries a 6 year warranty. I'm very satisfied with this and the other noctua fans I bought. Worth every penny.

Noctua NF-R8-1800 80mm Case cooler
Noctua NF-R8-1800 80mm Case cooler

Pros: This fan moves a good amount of air for it's size and for the noise it generates. The fan includes two adapters to regulate the noise and airflow, a "low noise" and an "ultra low noise". With the low noise adapter the fan is for all intents and purposes inaudible, unless you stick it right up to your ear--inside of a case and/or a few feet away and you wouldn't even know it was there. The fan comes with a 3 pin connector, but also an adapter so you can hook it up to the standard four pin power supply connectors. 4 rubber noise dampening mount pieces, in addition to 4 mounting screws are included.

Cons: none

Overall Review: I have it in an htpc, very satisfied. Moves 31 cfm at full speed, 23 cfm at the low noise setting, and about 15 at the ultra low noise setting. The noise the fan generates at the maximum speed is not unbearable, it's rather harmonic, it's not loud, and the noise you do hear is not grating on the senses. I'm currently using it at the full speed setting and am satisfied.
