Pros: I have tested it in a i7 6700 4.2ghz, gtx1080 water cooled VR rig I built, and have tested it on a super old core 2 duo 8500 3.8ghz, with old 5870. No problems. Works well with both machines. Voltage is very stable, even under full loads, with everything OCed, and piles of hdds.
Especially recommend for people in tight spots, as it is a pretty compact little guy.
Cons: The cable qc is not great. One the ribbon connectors for an 8pin mobo connecter seems to have encountered a snag upon extrusion of the insulating compound. It is kind of twisted, bulged, and has a white patch on what should be a solid black flat connector. It's not a huge deal, and is just an aesthetic flaw, but for the price, I sort of expect someone to notice a cable being twisted and mangled.
It is not a huge issue, will not return/rma for this reason and I would buy this psu again. Just a pet peeve at these price points that someone did not look at the cable and say 'NO'..
Other Thoughts: I would give 5 stars, but do think they should step up the QC even for a mid tier product such as this... 4.5 stars from me.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: DIAMOND Radeon HD 5970 (Hemlock) DirectX 11 5970PE52G 2GB 512 (256 x 2)-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Dual GPU Onboard CrossFire Video Card w/ Eyefinity
Pros: UMMM. . . .
Cons: Diamond. Avoid the headache do not buy from DIAMOND! I purchased a 4870 and registered it with Diamond, after 2 years the card spontaneously started smoking out of my case. (YES SMOKE!) I shut everything down, looked at the card, and realized a transistor had blown on the top if the card, leaving a black scorch mark on my BLUE pci-e slot. I am just fortunate that I was there to shut it off and get the card out before anything got destroyed.
I notified Diamond, had my original receipt from the store I purchased it at, but not my registration info. The pretty much told me to eat it when they replied (4-5 months later!!!).
Not only were they not willing to do ANYTHING to help, but they were rude about it too. First and last Diamond product I will ever own (And as a custom system builder /enthusiast I buy at ridiculous amount of top of the line parts, so Diamond won't be seeing a cut of my annual budget EVER AGAIN!).
Other Thoughts: I even told them I was looking at upgrading my card, and instead of RMA'ing, or repairing it, could they just hook up a rebate of some kind in interest of good faith, (seeing as I can no longer sell my 4870 used to help finance the cause) They didn't even acknowledge my business, they don't seem to have any interest in keeping customers or making them happy. DON'T BUY DIAMOND! (If they keep this up they will go out of business, doubtful that will effect their customer service)READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Its a corsair power supply, there is nothing but good things to say.
Cons: They just don't exist.
Other Thoughts: They guy who purchased this when the promotion was a $10 rebate, and is bashing Corsair for not giving him another $30 on top of it when they offered a $40 rebate, it's not Corsair's problem that you wish you had waited to buy it for a better deal. They offer promotions. . . PERIOD. Think of all the people who pay for it full price, THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF PROMOTIONS! Trying to get on em when they are available, you missed the boat, it's your fault, CORSAIR's customer service, and support forums are A1.READ FULL REVIEW
