Ripjaw 4GB
Pros: solid RAM
Cons: nothing
Overall Review: buy this RAM... it's solid.
DIYPC Case
Pros: it has a lot of 5.25" and 3.5" bays it has SOME cable management "potential" USB 3.0 in the front port is a plus cheap?
Cons: very cheap metal (almost flimsy) it will bend and warp if you open up and close the case often the stock 80mm fan that came with it is useless... it pushes no air... and it's stock configured to pull air INTO the computer.... not sure why someone would do that... >< i will need to get a replacement to really get some air flow going from what i can see, there is no place to place a fan in the front of the case to get a push/pull configuration going. this is a problem... there is a slot missing in the back where the GPU is supposed to go but if you're not using a separate GPU, it leaves a gaping hole that can't be closed with the sleeve provided (it falls out) and there is no way to secure it.
Overall Review: there's a lot of cons to this case. i bought it because of the price and it's for someone who doesn't use the computer heavily and uses it for word processing, surfing, etc. but in retrospect, i wish i had chosen something more sturdy and has a better cooling management system in place
DOA
Pros: it came within arrival window
Cons: PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK. the product was DOA. The computer recognizes it, but when in disk management, it will not allow me to partition, format, etc. Hard drive shows up in My Computer but does not let me in as it errors out.
Lenovo U310 (8GB)
Pros: touchscreen large RAM looks (aesthetics) SSD/HDD combo (fast boot times) i5 chip
Cons: the screen doesn't bend back that far resolution is low (would prefer 1920x1080) windows 8 (though that isn't the laptop's fault) it errors once in a while where the mouse/keys/screens get stuck
Overall Review: it's basically a nice laptop... got it for $599 during a daily deal sale, so worth the money. the 8GB model versus the 4GB RAM model def. helps to move the computer along, and the i5 chip seems powerful enough to handle most applications. Since the screen is small, it's portable and good for school or business, but the resolution really is lacking and you feel as though you have way less desktop real estate than you really do... esp, if you are running two docs side by side, you really can't see much. But I knew that going in, but really wish there was a way to have upgraded the resolution.
RAIDMAX 450W
Pros: it works thus far
Cons: the wires are a bit cheap isn't modular (but can you expect that out of this price range?)
Overall Review: if you need a sturdy PSU that does its job for a non-high performance computer, then this might be worth it to give it a look
GSkill 8GB
Pros: works works works
Cons: nothing
Overall Review: solid RAM... mobo detected it at a lower frequency but manually amped it up to 2133 and it has been working like a charm. I can def. notice it over the 1333 that i've used for the last 5 years
