SAMSUNG 2333T High Glossy Black 23" 8ms Full HD WideScreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR 50,000:1 (CR 4,000:1)
SAMSUNG 2333T High Glossy Black 23" 8ms Full HD WideScreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DCR 50,000:1 (CR 4,000:1)

Pros: Owned a 19" Samsung in the past, was the best monitor I ever owned. It ran 24/7 and never had a single dead or stuck pixel and no problems at all during the 10 years I owned it. Finally just quit working, so I wanted to get another Samsung when I replaced it. This one seems to be on par with that one; rich colors, no dead or stuck pixels, no ghosting. On screen controls are decent, buttons don't feel cheap.

Cons: The stand isn't bad, but the screw that goes from the bottom of the stand into the bottom of the monitor seems a little short. It worried me for the first day or so, but it seems to be holding up just fine. Slight amount of bleed-through on the left side. In a dark room with a black screen you can notice the light coming through the corners a little, but it's not bad by any means.

Overall Review: Monitors these days really should come with DVI cables. My last Samsung came with one, was surprised this one did not.

Silicon Power Blaze B10 16GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive SP016GBUF3B10V1B
Silicon Power Blaze B10 16GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive SP016GBUF3B10V1B

Pros: Decent capacity. Only $11 during Shell Shocker.

Cons: Abysmal speeds. Seq Read: 43.77MB/s Seq Write: 20.69MB/s 512k Read: 42.43MB/s 512k Write: 3.555MB/s 4k Read: 7.001MB/s 4k Write: 0.150MB/s

Overall Review: Yes, it was plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Absolutely and unquestionably the slowest flash drive out of the dozen or so I own. I cannot even fathom how it can be so slow -- it's just mind-boggling.

Fire hazzard.

CORSAIR HXi Series HX1200i 1200W 80 PLUS PLATINUM Haswell Ready Full Modular ATX12V & EPS12V SLI and Crossfire Ready Power Supply with C-Link Monitoring and Control
CORSAIR HXi Series HX1200i 1200W 80 PLUS PLATINUM Haswell Ready Full Modular ATX12V & EPS12V SLI and Crossfire Ready Power Supply with C-Link Monitoring and Control

Pros: Lots of connectors, plenty of power.

Cons: Could have burned my house down.

Overall Review: I have 1 of these HX1200i and 3 of the HX1200. I was sleeping one night and I awoke to what sounded like firecrackers or small caliber gunfire in my house. I sat up in bed and saw large sparks flying out of this thing in my hallway and bouncing off my washing machine. I ran over and flipped the surge protector switch to cut power to the system. Good thing they were flying at a metal appliance and not against paper or something flammable. Thankfully all of my other components in the system survived, but this power supply smelled like burned circuitry, and if you look inside the vents you can see many capacitors have blown and oozed out white foam of some sort. The HX1200 has been fine, but I would certainly not recommend this HX1200i.

Remanufactured

Print-Rite TRH190BRUJ Black Toner Cartridge Replacement for HP Q2612A
Print-Rite TRH190BRUJ Black Toner Cartridge Replacement for HP Q2612A

Pros: Don't know, not even going to open it since I didn't order remanufactured toner.

Cons: This toner cartridge is remanufactured, even though it doesn't say this anywhere on Newegg's product page. If you happen to blow up the picture of the box and read the sticker on the box you may notice this, but otherwise you won't know until it arrives and you open it up.

Overall Review: Extremely misleading, whether it was on purpose or not. Shame on you for not making it clear what was being sold.

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Got this during a Shell Shocker for $74.99 with free shipping. That terrible practice of UPS shipping it all the way to my home town, then waiting 3 more days for the post office to drive it 2 miles is annoying. Worst part is after all that wait, one of my sticks was bad, failing Prime95 instantly with rounding errors. Random reboots, freezes, all at stock speeds. The other stick seems to be OK, for all the good that does me.

Overall Review: Going to end up spending more time waiting for shipping here, back, and here again - as well as more money, AND have no computer for the next 7-10 days. Looks like quite a whole lot of negative reviews since I ordered, maybe QC fell asleep for a week.

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: GREAT case, easy to work with, lots of room, no sharp edges, well built. No annoying flashy lights, good air flow, no annoying door covering up my optical drives.

Cons: Nit picks are even less important than usual; no case speaker, and no open 3.5" bays. Also no removable motherboard tray at this price point.

Overall Review: Since my first Antec Three Hundred case, I've used them in all my builds instead of ordering a different case every time looking for a decent one.
