Better than most

XIGMATEK Thor's Hammer S126384 W Heat-Pipe Direct Touch CPU Cooler Intel and AMD compatible
XIGMATEK Thor's Hammer S126384 W Heat-Pipe Direct Touch CPU Cooler Intel and AMD compatible

Pros: I just installed this on a ASUS Rampage III Gene. The instructions are a pain IF you just look at the pictures and don't read the header for each picture. This is designed to work on multiple platforms so you have to pay attention to which one you're using. It is HEAVY. Installation was easier for me with the MB out of the case. I have an I7-950 and even without a fan it runs at acceptable temps.

Cons: It doesn't come with a fan. The description has a fan included but my package did not. Being the impatient techno geek I am I built my system without it and it was ok through system installation and basic setup. Not great but ok. Trip to Radio Shack the next morning and then I was very happy with the temps. The screws used are slotted for a phillips screwdriver and it would have made installation ALOT easier if the design of the cooler allowed access to these without the wrench.

Gave me a headache

ECS NF650iSLIT-A (V1.0) LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
ECS NF650iSLIT-A (V1.0) LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Was in one piece when it was delivered. I would give it a 0 if that option was available.

Cons: Not enough room here to list them all. This board gives you just enough hope to keep trying and finds a new place to lock up. Seems to have a conflict with ANY bios setting that is not default. After persistant attempts, NO ide - any ide device hooked up and it wouldn't boot, I finally got it to accept a windows install but file transfer errors from a install CD I used 2 days ago on another machine ended my efforts.

Overall Review: Since I let this board sit on the shelf too long and after rading of ECS's failures in the CS department this is going into the recycle bin. I will NEVER buy another ECS product after this experience.

NO REFURB

ASUS X550LA-SI50402W 15.6" HD display Laptop with Intel Core i5-4200U 1.60Ghz (2.60Ghz Turbo) , 4GB DDR3L, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, HD Webcam and Windows 8 64Bit

Pros: New Egg pulled one over on me. I figured that if I could trust anyone buying a refurb it would be NewEgg. NOPE. They have gone downhill slowly over the years with the ease of dealing with a bad product. Now they are no different than most retail shops and cost is something that no longer drives my purchases.

Cons: Laptop has crapped out after LIGHT usages of less than 6 mos.

Overall Review: New Egg has always been the first place I look when contemplating a new computer related purchase. This experience and the downhill slide in customer service has changed that. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER

Nice board

MSI G31M3-F LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI G31M3-F LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easy to install and get to POST. Had no problems at all. Micro board so makes your case seem bigger.

Cons: Since this is a Micro board space on it is limited. The way the SATA connectors are set up in a square you will lose two of them if you have a long video card...8800GTS etc. I think 4 low profie right angle SATA connector cables may allow the use of the 2 that are under the card but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
