WD Raptor X WD1500AHFDRTL 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive

Pros: Fast, Sata, Looks awesome, window so you can see it in performace

Cons: It is soooo loud. Like it is unbelievably loud. At first I thought it was my mobo, but I looked at the HD and it is just soo loud.

Overall Review: I have noticed a small difference between this drive and my 7200 rpm drive. For the price difference, just go with a SATA WD Caviar.

Pros: Fast, Stable, and worth the price. You get what you pay for, I remember when WD was building the amazing fast 7200 RPM drives, I boat them when they first start making them there where the most stable drives at the time. Now WD is making 10,000 RPM drives with in a affordable price range and WD drives are still the best in stability, speed, and price.

Cons: Most people say this drive is "LOUD LOUD LOUD" but this drive isn't much louder then any other hard drive.

Pros: best HD on the market for the buck. compared to 2 7200rpn HD raid O. This raptor x outperformed them.

Cons: buy the OEM version and save yourself $100 bucks. The plastic case will never be seen. I would have bought the oem one but I didn't see the $30 rebate dropping it to $200!

Pros: The performace of this drive is top notch. You will notice a boost in boot times as well as application load times over a normal 7,200 RPM drive. Installation was a breaze. No jumpers needed to be set and the cables provided fit well (I've had some SATA cables that were too wide for most normal power connecters). Hands down the fastest drive I've ever owned.

Cons: No formating software was provided. In most cases you wouldn't need it but if you did you would be on your own to get one. On past Raptor drives a 5 year warranty is offered but not on this model. You only get 1 year.

Overall Review: Nosie and heat levels weren't as bad as some have stated. Some of my fans are louder. At full speed you can hear the drive well but thats few and far between. In my case the temp stays around 23C (idle) with a single 80mm fan infront of the drive cage. When installing drives like this make sure you secure them well. You can also use anti-vibration (ie strips or rings)to help with noise. I will buy another for the perfomace factor alone.

Pros: Functions perfect, extremely fast and is great as an OS hard drive.

Cons: Very very very loud. Very loud. Did i mention loud? Unfortunatly its the loudest component in my system, I'm thinking of putting it in the back port of my Thermaltake Armor case to dampen the sound.

Pros: very fast boot up transfer rates or high all you need for burnin dvds and mass music transfering and very good with gaming

Cons: if you like hearing a clicking noise every .5 secs this is what you want in your computer

Overall Review: atleast you can see the disc spining that way you know if it goes bad... lol

Pros: Nice, fast, nice, but loud, which doesn't bother me. Be aware, this is the retail package and you can get the OEM for much cheaper. If you don't need all the extra fluff (soft bag holding the HDD) go with the OEM.

Cons: Maybe the noise if you need it to be silent, but not an issue for me. I don't notice it when I'm useing it, only when its booting up and the room is silent.

Overall Review: Get the OEM, its cheaper. Besides that, its a great drive with a huge following, for a reason. Go get one (or two)!

Pros: It is faster than my 7200 Seagates. I tested them both with stop watches. I know that's not really technical... but it was very repeatable. It's about 10% faster

Cons: It's more than 10% louder than my Seagates :/ I have all my drives mounted on rubber silencers inside of a nearly soundproof Cosmos case. You can still hear this puppy.

Overall Review: I don't know if the speed outweighs the noise. It's up to you.
