How reliable is this hard drive for continuous operation?

I have only had the new WD Red Plus Drives for a few weeks. I purchased them to replace a set of (four) other Western Digital drives that I originally purchased in 2017 or 2018, so that's 8 or 9 years. I had no problems with those drives until a month ago, when it became impossible to write to one of the drives. My drives are used as backup to my desk continue and for long-term storage of information. The old drives were NOT used in continuous operation.

What measures have been taken to balance the drive for increased reliability?
