I had a western 4gb drive in a external usb box and could only format 2gb. I'm afraid I would have the problem with this drive?

I have never had that problem with Samsung Drives, But if for some reason you do, New Egg has an Awesome return Policy as long as your not at fault.

I'm no expert, but I don't believe so. according to google you would need a M.2 2230/2280 card. There are tabs on this site to find which kind you need and which one would be best for you.
