Worked great in an MSI Z170-A PRO with Windows 102/10/2016 9:36:06 AM
Pros: Fast as heck
No cables. And I mean none. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Worked great with my MSI Z170-A PRO motherboard. The motherboard includes the retaining screw.
Cons: Had to flash the MSI Z170-A PRO to the latest BIOS.
Overall Review: I would definitely buy another one and am sold on M.2 vs. SATA.
Pros: Works great.
And this comes with a migration tool. I tried to move Windows 8 from my laptop HDD to this newly installed SSD, but I am a tech noob and I spent several hours just to figure out how. Most of the migration tools out there are complicated and expensive. I did not want to pay for the whole software just for one feature that only useful for just once. Then I found out Samsung distributes a simple and free migration tool that only works on Samsung SSD. It took several minutes to get the job done.
Overall Review: I'm using 20+ of these SSD's in Intel NUC machines that work as thin clients. Their performance is great allowing me to image the machine in 5 minutes. They boot fast, and I have yet to run into any problems. Nice product Samsung!

Performs as expected from a Samsung SSD8/31/2016 9:57:49 AM
Pros: -Good performance that's identical to the 2.5" drive
-M.2 form factor eliminates need for power and sata cables
-quick and easy to install
-small size makes it disappear when installed onto motherboard
-SATA based SSD so no additional drivers needed to boot from
Cons: -No heatsink or heatspreader
-Will disable 1 or more SATA ports depending on your motherboard (I lose 2 on mine)
-SATA based SSD so limited to 6gb/sec
Overall Review: This is a SATA based SSD drive so it's limited to 6gb/sec SATA3 spec even though your M.2 port is capable of more. If you want the faster speeds you'll need to go with the PCI-E drives or NVMe.
The small size is nice but you do have to wonder how it will handle the increase in heat with no case or heatsink to help dissipate it. My temp monitor shows my other other 2.5" SSD in the low 30s while this one is hovering in the low 40s. This is with two intake fans blowing over it. Not to mention many boards have their M.2 ports very close to the PCI-E slots where many enthusiasts will have a high performance video card producing quite a bit of heat.
Pros: This Solid State Drive has had no initial problems. I was able to put it into my Acer Aspire V15 Nitro laptop without any problems, and initialized with no issues. I installed Windows 8.1 on it flawlessly and my computer boots in seconds.
Cons: I have no cons that are for sure associated with the SSD. After a shutdown or hibernation, my computer will tell me there are no bootable device. Consistently, after a second try it boots right up.
Overall Review: I had just installed an extra 8 gigs of ram and the new SSD in my laptop when I encountered the boot error. I had not even installed windows on the SSD yet, and I had used the computer for a few days before without issue. Not sure whats up.
Pros: The Max Read/Writes stand true. Amazing speeds.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Congrats Fedex/USPS for a terrifically smashed package; good thing 'Samsung' has preventative shipmentretardation methods.
