I can't answer that question with 100% certainty, I guess if you have a slot for one why not?!?  I am using it for a laptop. Does that MoBo show supported buss speeds for that port?

I picked this (the 1tb drive) up a while back for my Alienware M18xr2.  I had planned on using it as the main boot drive for the OS and I also have (2) 2TB & a 1tb drives.  I just never got around to setting it all up. To be honest, it's been flawless so far, but, I haven't seen speeds so fast that made it worth $400 (at the time I purchased it anyway). But it did allow more storage space. I am still playing with the best way to make use of it. Would love to hear how others use it as well.  I have read of others using it as an acceleration drive for a raid set up....

1 - does this 1TB come with Maagaician?

2 - will Magician from 850 PRO 256G run this SSD?

1 - The mSATA version does not come with the Samsung Utilities CD that includes the Magician software. Samsung assumes that you're going to be using their USB to SATA adapter when using that software so they only include it with drives that have standard SATA connectors.

2 - The Magician software should work with any Samsung drive that was out at the time of its release, though I haven't tried it on Pro vs Evo models yet so I'm only 99% on that. I would recommend downloading the latest version anyway as it should support drives newer than your CD version.

Does this come with software for cloning a laptop's operating system?

When you buy the SSD, all you are buying and getting is the SSD.  But free programs to do the cloning are available off the internet.  I use EaseUS Partition Master version 10.2 to copy and clone drives and to manage partitions on and between my SSDs and HDDs.

Exactly how thick is this card? I'm using it for a confined, customized space, and I'd like to plan ahead.

It's installed already so I can't measure.  Fit without problems into the mSATA slot of a Dell Latitude E7240 laptop.  Samsung site reports WxHxD as (29.85±0.15) x (50.80±0.15) x Max 3.85 (mm).

I would like to get a Lenova Yoga Pro 3 , pull the 256 SSD and put in a SAMSUNG 850 EVO MZ-M5E1T0BW mSATA 1TB Mini-SATA (mSATA) Internal SSD Single Unit Version.  Is this msata compatible?

I don't think so.  The Yoga p3 uses an M.2 drive, not msata.  The connector is a 3 part vs the 2 part msata.  Search on "Lenovo yoga pro 3 ssd" and look at the Crucial replacement drive.

I am considering buy the: LASUS X550JK-DH71 Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7 4710HQ (2.50GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M 2GB GDDR3 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit.  Most of the cons are about the 5400 HDD and I want to get an SSD instead but am not sure which one will be compatable.  Can you help?  One person suggested the Samsug 850 EVO but there are several with that beginning number to choose from.
