Question 1

Will this product fit into a GIGABYTE P37Wv4-BW1?  I have researched and researched but have been unable to locate any pictures and/or articles that describe the replacement process with this type of SSD.  I do not want to get rid of my CD drive and I would like to keep the HDD as a storage drive.  Am I able to add this drive without having to remove any existing hardware? Also, if anyone could post a link to any pictures of where exactly this would plug into that would be great!

I installed this into my Gigabyte P35Wv4 - it works great but it's harder to install than RAM.  Your model has the same quad storage feature as mine, so you do have two mSATA slots in addition to the one internal 2.5 SATA slot and the swappable 2.5 optical drive bay.  To get to the mSATA slots, you need to unscrew the whole back panel of the laptop and lift up very gently because (in my model anyway) there is a ribbon connector that you don't want to disconnect accidentally attached to the back panel with heavy tape.  You will be able to swing the back panel aside with the ribbon still attached and the mSATA slots are easy to spot.  Either slot will work, but make sure you use a screw to hold the back of the SSD down.  Sorry - no pictures!

This SSD is packaged to interface to a computer using the "mSATA" standard connector. If your desktop computer has an mSATA connector or adapter, it will work, but the much more common case it to find standard SATA ports and connections on a desktop. mSATA, or "micro" SATA usually appears in modern laptops because it is more compact. If you are replacing a SATA HDA(disk) with SSD, then you should purchase the Samsung EVO 850 SATA model - same electronics, different packaging(mounting) and connectors.

A Previous Samsung SSD 250GB I have came with a desktop kit.   How does this drive install in my desktop?   It looks like a laptop only drive .
do they sell an adapter plate ?

thinking about using this for a Win10 Drive for Daw and Flight sim.

There is an adapter for msata ssd but I wouldn't use that unless you need this to replace a smaller msata. This is not a standard 2.5 inch ssd. There are plenty of adapters for those cause you only need to fit the drive in the larger slot. With this one, you also have to adapt the power and sata plugs and that is sometimes hit and miss. Get a regular 2.5 inch ssd for a desktop and buy an adapter if you need one. This one does not come with any kind of adapter.

I would like to install this in my laptop.
Does this include all the software to clone my existing system and drive?

No it does not include the software.  You must go to the Samsung site and download it.  Be aware that you will need to install this new drive as a USB drive.  Look on the Internet for solutions as there are several ways to do this.  I did use the Samsung upgrade software just this weekend and it went very well.  I am very pleased.  Note that I also upgraded the Ram from 4 to 16 Gig.

I google searched "yoga 13 ssd compatibility" and the second and fourth listings gave me the answer I'm giving you:

You are not mSata compatible.

You are M.2 2280 form factor SATA SSD

which is 22mm width and 80mm length.

I hope this is what you were asking when you said, "take."

Question 6

Is this SSD compatible with my Lenovo T540p? What might be the best upgrade for my unit, going from HHD to SSD? Upgrade may not even be needed however would like faster start up and response. Already maxed RAM.

If you want to be faster then there is nothing more noticeable than going SSD in my opinion. But that could also be that I had a friggin' awesome gaming rig that could run anything on max settings. But at that time I did the research and it was completely clear that SSD's are much faster than HDD's. I only buy HDD now for backups and interop for different OS's. But when it comes to running your favorite operating system then it deserves an SSD. I even settle for less storage just to get every OS I have on SSD since I know it's that much better. I can always expand with ext HDD or more SSD's later on.

As for T540p you are M.2 NGFF 2242 SSD compatible which means you are NOT mSata compatible. But from another source I saw that you are compatible for regular internal SSD upgrades (still not mSata) but that might be because your laptop has a slim drive bay or something like that.

What does "Single unit version" mean?  It is in the product description headline.

That is a GREAT question! I did some internet sleuthing and it is not really discussed. From what I gathered it simply means that you only get the unit - no spacers or wires or anything else. Mine installed so very easily and there was an immediate and noticeable improvement. The OS transfer was cake. I based my decision a lot on the research done in the following article. Definitely recommend. Can't link to sites, so look up samsung_850_evo_msata_ssd_review at storagereview. Great review (which is not a store or pricing entity - just a product review).

I have a Dell XPS 8500 with a current mSATA SSD drive as my boot drive.  Does this Samsung come with migration software, and if so has anyone used it?

Yes.  I've used their software a few times now on different computers.  It is simple and effective.  You just download and run it with the Samsung SSD plugged in and it will clone the system drive to it.

I think it should work  I would open the back of the laptop and check to see if the spot for the ssd  is free and also check the manufactures site to make sure I know Lenovo  can be a little finicky sometimes also I would upgrade your bios first
