Does this come with mounting hardware?

No, just the drive and the manual. Can order whatever type of mounting hardware is needed for your particular installation separately [internal or external use], for example internal mounting bracket, SATA-drive-to-USB adapter for external use, etc.

Right now I am using a 1TB SATA SSD drive.  Will this work in the same slot?  I am running Windows 10 latest update and want to replace one of my other spinner drives with this 4TB for storage and photo access.  One currently there is a WD Blue SSD Sata drive 545 MB/s read 525MB/s write.  I have an older Xeon Dell system.  Any help would be appreciated to be sure it will work.

Yes, it will work just fine, but you will not get the full read/write speed possible if you aren't running SATA III... but all SATA (SATA I, II, and III) are backwards compatible.  Note that the drive is much smaller than the WD Blue and you will either need to use the adapter tray or (and this works great) some velcro tape to mount it.   Power and data plugs are compatible.

Samsung does offer it's Data Migration utility from their website, anything from full OS to specific files/folders.

Can you help me find my missing 300 gb of storage?    I have a 1 TB (931.51 effective) Samsung SSD 850 EVO.  It is my D drive (Win 7 Pro 64 OS on C).  Per Disk Manager there is 1 partition and the drive is "Healthy".  Per Microsoft my drivers for this drive are "up to date." On this drive there There are 4 media folders which add up to less than 400GB  (per Properties using Windows Explorer).  I also have a "Backup Restore" for select folders on my C drive and it is supposedly 192 gb (this is not viable using Windows Explorer.  When I focus on the D drive with Windows Explorer it  tells me I only have 55 GB capacity left.   WT%!!!   I should have 931 - ~600 = 300+ gb.
I talked with Gil, Samsung's US support manager and asked him for guidance and recommendations .  I told him about the 300+ GB of mystery missing storage and he said that it was my problem to resolve. He also told me not to use defrag on a SSD as it will damage the drive. (Should this be disclosed.)    So with only 55 gb left I am faced with a tough situation.  Since I do a lot with video media I am essentially out of storage.  I can't get Samsung to help me assess the situation.  I have bought 6 Samsung SSD's.  They are in all my computers.  This 1 TB drive is the backbone for my main PC where I do video editing.  I am reluctant to replace it with a 2 TB as I have 300 gb missing from the 1 TB.

It sounds like you have a non activated partition that won't show even if you format it, but don't activate it.  Do you have Samsung Magician installed?

You really need to check with ASUS to be sure. It looks like your laptop ships with an NVMe drive from the manufacturer, so you can't replace that with this 2.5" drive. If you ALSO have a 2.5" slot available this drive would fit in it, and I think your model has a 2.5" slot. Check with ASUS to be sure. Also, did you really need to use 5 question marks?
