Dose this unit have a web browser that lets you make online purchases (Shop Online) And also dose it have the apps Netflix-Youtube-Amazon Instant And lastly can you use a wireless keyboard to navigate the web and apps...THANKS!!! ????

Yes and no - or is it no and yes.  There is a web browser that I find is not very easy to use.  In most cases you have to use a regular computer to sign up for an account on Netflix, amazon, and other purchase sights.  Then you can use the user name/ password with the remote control.

There are a number of automatic apps that load on to Samsung and there are others that you can add.  Include are most video pay sights and Youtube.  The l font size with Youtube is large enough for me to see from my normal tv chair.  Web surfing is another matter.  The font or type size is small enough that I have to get a lot closer to the tv (I have a 55" screen).

I am not sure about wireless keyboard.  This would be great with Youtube but there would be the same problem of seeing what you are typing to surf the internet.

There are applications for smart phones to use them as a remote control for your BR player and TV.

My older TV is not HDMI compatible will this player work ?

In order to play back Blu-ray disks, HDMI interface is required.

This player load disks quite fast, not like older ones that take minutes to load

Does 4k upscaling even matter if I dont have a 4k TV?

With standard DVDs there is a slightly noticeable difference in video quality and it doesn't hurt to have a little something extra.

Side Note:
This player has the Cinavia copy protection in the hardware. Copied BluRay discs (for personal use of course 8-) ) may not play.
Even some regular BluRays may not.

how do we compare this Samsung and  Sony Dual core Blu-ray Disc™ player 4K upscaling BDP-S6200..?..Sony is cheaper,thks.

Samsung has different software on each device.  The new youtube software is harder to search than the older versions.  They type selection is liner - all in a row - where the older version was in a grid pattern.

There probably isn't much difference in the software available for any of the mfg's.  SAMSUNG make you work to find the software that allows you to "PC-Share" video, music and photos.

My suggestion is to go to worst buys and look at the menu for both players and see which you prefer then come back to Newegg and make your purchase.

specs state 2 HDMI ports  Customer review  says only one HDMI port with video and sound and one HDMI port with no video just sound.  Is this correct?  How many functional HDMI ports??

Samsung claims it will, but I don't have a 4K TV.  It upscales many  DVDs to near BD quality.

not a lot come with it but many are available to download for free once you set it up. you can get hulu, netflix and more all quick and simple.
